In the past two decades, art and the creation process have become an inseparable part of my life. I am constantly fascinated by materials, unique textures, and the beauty found in the remnants of nature. These pursuits have become my passion.
After years of working in advertising and marketing, I fell in love with clay and began to explore its possibilities, which led me to discover a new passion and direction in my life. What started as a curiosity for sculpting and creating practical objects quickly turned into a deep interest in the technical side of art-making, including the creation of my own unique glazes and development of amorphous clay shapes. As I continued to learn and explore the world of ceramics, my focus gradually shifted towards Alternative Firings - Raku, Smoke Firing, and Pit Firing. These methods offered a new level of complexity and fascination, and I found myself completely absorbed in the process. What began as a personal interest soon became the primary focus of my work, allowing me to continuously learn and experiment while exploring the endless possibilities that this specialized field offers.

Alternative Firings are various techniques alternative to the typical modern firing methods used for ceramics. They allow for unique, striking effects on the surface of the material. It is a complex and fascinating process requiring determination, continuous learning and allows for renewed examination of materials and techniques. Any change in the work process can lead to a change in the final product, which makes each artwork unique and unlike the other. Each piece I create is an expression of my passion and growth as an artist, as I continue to push boundaries and explore new areas of interest.
From my early days creating practical objects to my current work in Alternative Firings, my journey has been one of continuous development and evolution - a journey that I am grateful to be on and eager to share with others.
